Arc additive manufacturing technology has attracted more and more attention because of its low cost, high forming efficiency, strong material adaptability and other advantages, especially the efficient rapid near net forming of large-size and complex shape components, which has incomparable efficiency and cost advantages compared with other additive technologies.

The manufacturing cost is low. Compared with laser and electron beam additive manufacturing process, the cost of equipment and material in arc additive manufacturing is lower than the former two;

Without mold opening, it can directly manufacture complex components with low cost and wide market application;

The utilization rate of materials is high. Due to the use of silk as raw material, the material utilization rate of the powder feeding laser deposition (LDM) is 30% higher than that of the powder feeding laser deposition (LDM);
